A hearty and comforting shepherd’s pie made from scratch.
Ingredients

- 1 lb ground lamb
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 carrots, diced
- 2 celery stalks, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup frozen peas
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 4 cups mashed potatoes
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large skillet, brown the ground lamb over medium heat.
- Add the onion, carrots, celery, and garlic. Cook until the vegetables are soft.
- Stir in the tomato paste, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, peas, salt, and pepper.
- Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Transfer the meat mixture to a baking dish.
- Spread the mashed potatoes over the top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- Use leftover mashed potatoes for quicker prep.
- Feel free to add more vegetables as desired.
- Make it ahead and reheat before serving.
