A classic Oklahoma-style fried onion burger featuring juicy beef patties and crispy fried onions.

- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 4 hamburger buns
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: cheese slices
Instructions
- Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add the sliced onions and cook until they are golden brown.
- Form the ground beef into four patties and season with salt and pepper.
- Place the beef patties in the skillet with the onions.
- Press the patties into the onions to coat them.
- Cook until the patties are done to your liking, about 4 minutes per side.
- If using cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking.
- Toast the hamburger buns in the skillet for a minute.
- Assemble the burgers by placing the patties on the buns with onions.
- Serve hot.
