Classic old fashioned banana pudding made with layers of vanilla wafers, fresh bananas, and creamy pudding.
Ingredients

- 4 ripe bananas
- 1 box vanilla wafers
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup cornstarch
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3 egg yolks
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup whipped cream
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine sugar, cornstarch, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, whisk egg yolks and add milk gradually.
- Combine the milk mixture with the dry ingredients in the saucepan.
- Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until thickened.
- Remove from heat and stir in butter and vanilla extract.
- In a serving dish, layer vanilla wafers, sliced bananas, and pudding.
- Repeat layers until all ingredients are used.
- Top with whipped cream.
- Chill before serving.

- Use ripe bananas for best flavor.
- Keep refrigerated until ready to serve.
