- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine sugar, milk, and cocoa powder.
- Bring to a boil over medium heat while stirring constantly.
- Allow to boil for 5 minutes without stirring.
- Remove from heat and add butter and vanilla extract.
- Beat the mixture until it thickens and loses its gloss.
- Fold in walnuts if using.
- Pour into a greased 8-inch square pan.
- Let it cool completely before cutting into squares.
