Ingredients

  • 1 whole turkey (1214 lbs)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 2 cups carrots, chopped
  • 2 cups celery, chopped
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh sage, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare the turkey by removing giblets and patting it dry.
  3. Rub olive oil, salt, and pepper over the turkey.
  4. Place turkey in a roasting pan and pour chicken broth around it.
  5. Stuff the turkey cavity with chopped vegetables and herbs.
  6. Roast the turkey for about 3 hours or until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  7. Let the turkey rest for 20 minutes before carving.
