A delicious patty melt with a unique secret sauce.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 slices of rye bread
  • 4 slices of cheese
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the sliced onion in a skillet until caramelized.
  2. In a bowl, mix mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard to create the secret sauce.
  3. Form the ground beef into two patties and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Cook the patties in the skillet until desired doneness.
  5. Assemble the melt: spread secret sauce on one side of the rye bread.
  6. Add a patty, cheese, and caramelized onions, then top with another slice of bread.
  7. Butter the outside of the bread and grill until golden brown on both sides.
