- 1 cup unsalted butter, chilled

- 6 to 8 tablespoons ice water
- 4 cups sliced apples
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt.
- Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add ice water, one tablespoon at a time, until dough forms.
- Roll out the dough and place in a pie pan.
- In a separate bowl, combine apples, lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and brown sugar.
- Pour apple mixture into the pie crust.
- Cover with another layer of dough and cut slits for steam.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes until apples are tender.
- Let cool before serving.
Notes
- Use a mix of sweet and tart apples for better flavor.
- Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator.
