Ingredients

- 1 turkey (12-14 lbs)
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 2 cups bread crumbs
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 carrots, diced
- 2 celery stalks, diced
- 1 cup butter
- 1 tablespoon sage
- 1 tablespoon thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
- Prepare the turkey by removing the giblets and patting it dry.
- In a large pan, melt the butter and sauté onion, carrots, and celery until soft.
- Add bread crumbs, broth, sage, thyme, salt, and pepper to the pan. Mix well.
- Stuff the turkey with the mixture and place it in a roasting pan.
- Cover the turkey with foil and roast for about 3 hours.
- Remove the foil and roast for another hour or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Let the turkey rest for 20 minutes before carving.
Notes
- Check the turkey temperature with a meat thermometer.
- Let the stuffing cool before stuffing the turkey.
- Use fresh herbs for better flavor.
