Ingredients

  • 1 cup pistachios, chopped
  • 200g kunafa pastry
  • 1 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup flour
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare a baking dish by greasing it.
  3. In a bowl, mix melted butter with kunafa pastry until well coated.
  4. Press half of the kunafa mixture into the bottom of the baking dish.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
  6. Add flour, baking powder, and salt to the egg mixture.
  7. Fold in chopped pistachios.
  8. Pour the brownie batter over the kunafa layer.
  9. Top with the remaining kunafa mixture.
  10. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  11. Let it cool before cutting into squares.
