Ingredients

  • 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup grated Gruyère cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Grease a baking dish with butter.
  3. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the dish.
  4. Sprinkle half of the minced garlic, salt, and pepper over the potatoes.
  5. Add half of the heavy cream and half of the cheeses.
  6. Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, garlic, salt, pepper, cream, and cheeses.
  7. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  9. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
