Ingredients

- 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
- 1 cup grated Gruyère cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons butter
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Grease a baking dish with butter.
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the dish.
- Sprinkle half of the minced garlic, salt, and pepper over the potatoes.
- Add half of the heavy cream and half of the cheeses.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, garlic, salt, pepper, cream, and cheeses.
- Cover the dish with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden and bubbly.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

- Use a mandoline for even potato slices.
- Experiment with different types of cheese for varied flavors.
- Add herbs like thyme for extra aroma.
