Ingredients

  • 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons butter, for greasing

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Grease a baking dish with butter.
  3. Layer half of the potato slices at the bottom of the dish.
  4. Sprinkle half of the cheddar cheese and half of the garlic over the potatoes.
  5. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. Add the remaining potato slices on top.
  7. Pour the heavy cream over the layers.
  8. Top with the remaining cheddar cheese and Parmesan cheese.
  9. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the potatoes are tender and the top is golden brown.
  10. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

  • For extra flavor, add herbs like thyme or rosemary.
  • For a lighter version, substitute half-and-half for heavy cream.
