Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons kosher salt
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh thyme, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
  2. Rub the prime rib roast with olive oil.
  3. Season the roast with salt, pepper, garlic, rosemary, and thyme.
  4. Place the roast in a roasting pan, bone side down.
  5. Roast in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.
  6. Reduce the temperature to 325°F (165°C) and continue roasting for about 1.5 to 2 hours, or until desired doneness.
  7. Remove from the oven and let it rest for 20-30 minutes before slicing.
