Ingredients
- Turkey: 1 whole (12-14 pounds)
- Butter: 1 cup, softened
- Salt: 2 tablespoons
- Pepper: 1 tablespoon
- Garlic: 4 cloves, minced

- Celery: 4 stalks, chopped
- Carrots: 2, chopped
- Chicken broth: 4 cups
- Stuffing mix: 1 package
- Cranberries: 2 cups, fresh
- Green beans: 1 pound
- Mashed potatoes: 5 pounds
- Gravy: 2 cups
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
- Prepare the turkey by rubbing it with butter, salt, and pepper.
- Stuff the turkey with chopped onion, celery, and stuffing mix.
- Place the turkey in a roasting pan and pour chicken broth around it.
- Roast the turkey for about 3-4 hours, basting occasionally.
- While the turkey cooks, prepare mashed potatoes and green beans.
- Cook cranberries in a saucepan until they burst.
- Make gravy using turkey drippings.
- Once the turkey is done, let it rest for 20 minutes before carving.
Notes
- Check the turkey’s internal temperature; it should reach 165°F (75°C).
- Use leftover turkey for sandwiches or soup.
- Make sure to have extra cranberry sauce on hand.
