Ingredients

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Toss strawberries with olive oil and sugar in a bowl.
  3. Spread strawberries on a baking sheet and roast for 20 minutes.
  4. Let strawberries cool, then blend with lime juice and zest.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix cream, milk, remaining sugar, basil, and vanilla.
  6. Combine the strawberry mixture with the cream mixture.
  7. Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for 2 hours.
  8. Pour into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  9. Transfer to a container and freeze for at least 4 hours before serving.
