Description
This is a simple royal icing recipe that does not use meringue powder.
Ingredients

- 1 egg white
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- Water (as needed)
Instructions
- In a bowl, beat the egg white until frothy.
- Add the lemon juice and mix well.
- Gradually add the powdered sugar, mixing until smooth.
- If the icing is too thick, add water a few drops at a time until you reach the desired consistency.
- Use immediately or store in an airtight container.

- Make sure to use fresh egg whites.
- Store any leftover icing in the refrigerator.
- Let the icing dry completely before storing decorated items.
