Description
Salisbury steak with mushroom gravy is a comforting dish featuring seasoned ground beef patties smothered in a rich mushroom sauce.
Ingredients

- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp water
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
- Shape the mixture into patties.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Cook patties for 4-5 minutes on each side until browned. Remove from skillet.
- Add mushrooms to the skillet and sauté until soft.
- Add beef broth to the skillet and bring to a boil.
- Mix cornstarch and water, then add to broth to thicken.
- Return patties to the skillet and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Serve hot with gravy poured over the top.
Notes
- Serve with mashed potatoes or rice.
- Adjust seasoning to your taste.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
