Description

Salisbury steak with mushroom gravy is a comforting dish featuring seasoned ground beef patties smothered in a rich mushroom sauce.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp water

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
  2. Shape the mixture into patties.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  4. Cook patties for 4-5 minutes on each side until browned. Remove from skillet.
  5. Add mushrooms to the skillet and sauté until soft.
  6. Add beef broth to the skillet and bring to a boil.
  7. Mix cornstarch and water, then add to broth to thicken.
  8. Return patties to the skillet and simmer for 10 minutes.
  9. Serve hot with gravy poured over the top.

Notes

  • Serve with mashed potatoes or rice.
  • Adjust seasoning to your taste.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
