A delicious smoked turkey recipe perfect for Thanksgiving.
Ingredients

- 1 whole turkey (12–14 lbs)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons kosher salt
- 1 tablespoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 2 cups applewood chips
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat the smoker to 225°F.
- Rinse the turkey and pat it dry.
- Rub olive oil over the turkey.
- Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Soak the applewood chips in water for 30 minutes.
- Place the turkey in the smoker, breast side up.
- Add applewood chips to the smoker.
- Smoke the turkey for 30 minutes per pound.
- Brush melted butter over the turkey every hour.
- Check the internal temperature; it should reach 165°F.
Notes
- Let the turkey rest for at least 30 minutes before carving.
- Use a meat thermometer for accuracy.
- Experiment with different wood chips for varied flavors.
