- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes
- Salt to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
- Cook the penne pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until translucent.
- Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
- Add the sausage to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes, heavy cream, red pepper flakes, and salt. Simmer for 5-7 minutes.
- Add the cooked pasta to the sauce and mix until combined.
- Stir in grated Parmesan cheese until melted and creamy.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil.
