Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking soda, baking powder, spices, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat together sugars, oil, and eggs.
- Add buttermilk to the wet mixture and mix well.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
- Pour batter into greased cake pans.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow cakes to cool before serving.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container.
- Best served with cream cheese frosting.
- Can be made a day ahead for better flavor.
