Description
A decadent dessert combining the flavors of caramel and apple in a rich fudge.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup chopped apples
- 1 cup caramel sauce
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Prepare an 8×8 inch baking dish by lining it with parchment paper.
- In a saucepan, combine sugar, butter, and heavy cream over medium heat.
- Stir continuously until the mixture reaches a boil.
- Reduce heat and cook for 5 minutes without stirring.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and salt.
- Fold in chopped apples and half of the caramel sauce.
- Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared baking dish.
- Drizzle remaining caramel sauce on top and swirl with a knife.
- Let it cool at room temperature for at least 2 hours.
- Cut into squares and serve.
Notes
- Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
- Use tart apples for a better contrast with the sweetness.
