Ingredients

  • 3 cups collard greens, chopped
  • 1 cup chopped onions
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup cornbread, crumbled
  • 2 cups green beans, trimmed
  • 1 cup diced potatoes
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Wash collard greens and remove tough stems.
  2. In a large pot, sauté onions and garlic until soft.
  3. Add collard greens and chicken broth. Cook until tender.
  4. Boil green beans and potatoes in salted water until tender.
  5. In a bowl, combine cornbread, milk, and butter. Mix well.
  6. Pour cornbread mixture into a baking dish and bake at 350°F for 30 minutes.
  7. Serve all dishes warm on the Thanksgiving table.

Notes

  • Feel free to add ham hocks for extra flavor in collard greens.
  • Adjust seasoning according to your taste.
  • Green beans can be sautéed with bacon for added richness.
