- 1 whole turkey (12–14 lbs)
- 2 cups mixed seasonal fruits (apples, pears, cranberries)
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 2 cups turkey broth
- 1/4 cup fresh herbs (sage, thyme, rosemary)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Rinse the turkey and pat it dry with paper towels.
- Rub the softened butter all over the turkey.
- Season the turkey with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Stuff the cavity with mixed seasonal fruits and fresh herbs.
- Place the turkey in a roasting pan and pour turkey broth around it.
- Cover the turkey with foil and roast for 2 to 2.5 hours.
- Remove the foil and roast for an additional 30-45 minutes until golden brown.
- Let the turkey rest for 20 minutes before carving.
Notes
- Use a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Adjust cooking time based on turkey size.
- Letting the turkey rest helps retain juices.
