A simple and flavorful side dish for Thanksgiving featuring green beans.
Ingredients

- 1 pound fresh green beans
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup sliced almonds
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
Instructions
- Trim the ends of the green beans.
- In a large pot, bring water to a boil and blanch the green beans for 3 minutes.
- Drain and immediately place them in ice water to stop cooking.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
- Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute.
- Add the green beans and sauté for 5 minutes.
- Stir in sliced almonds, salt, and pepper.
- Cook for an additional 2 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Adjust garlic according to your taste.
- For extra flavor, add lemon zest.
- Can substitute almonds with walnuts.
