A delicious main course for Thanksgiving featuring roasted turkey with herbs.
Ingredients

- 1 whole turkey (12–14 pounds)
- 4 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons salt
- 1 tablespoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 lemon, quartered
- 1 onion, quartered
- 2 cups fresh herbs (rosemary, thyme, sage)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C).
- Remove the turkey giblets and pat the turkey dry.
- Rub the turkey with olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Stuff the cavity with lemon, onion, and fresh herbs.
- Place the turkey in a roasting pan and pour chicken broth around it.
- Cover with aluminum foil and roast for 2.5 to 3 hours.
- Remove the foil and roast for another 30-60 minutes until the skin is golden brown.
- Let the turkey rest for 20-30 minutes before carving.
Notes
- Use a meat thermometer to check if the turkey reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Letting the turkey rest enhances flavor.
- Save the drippings for gravy.
