- 1 whole turkey (12–14 pounds)
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 tablespoons salt
- 1 tablespoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 3 cups stuffing mix
- 1 cup diced celery
- 1 cup diced onion
- 1 tablespoon dried thyme
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
- Prepare the stuffing by mixing stuffing mix, celery, onion, thyme, and 1 cup of chicken broth.
- Season the turkey with butter, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Stuff the turkey with the prepared stuffing.
- Place the turkey in a roasting pan and pour remaining chicken broth around it.
- Cover with foil and roast for 3-4 hours, removing foil in the last hour.
- Check the internal temperature; it should reach 165°F (75°C).
- Let the turkey rest for 20 minutes before carving.
