Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Remove the turkey giblets and pat the turkey dry with paper towels.
  3. Rub the softened butter all over the turkey, including under the skin.
  4. Season the turkey inside and out with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, rosemary, and sage.
  5. Place the turkey on a roasting rack in a large roasting pan.
  6. Pour the chicken broth into the bottom of the pan.
  7. Roast the turkey in the preheated oven for about 3 to 4 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  8. Let the turkey rest for at least 30 minutes before carving.
