A traditional Thanksgiving roast featuring tender turkey and savory stuffing.
Ingredients

- 1 whole turkey (12–14 lbs)
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cups bread cubes
- 1 cup celery, chopped
- 1 cup onion, chopped
- 1 teaspoon sage
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 4 cups chicken broth
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
- Prepare the stuffing by sautéing onion and celery in butter.
- Add bread cubes, herbs, salt, and pepper to the mixture.
- Moisten with chicken broth and mix well.
- Stuff the turkey cavity with the prepared stuffing.
- Place the turkey in a roasting pan and rub with softened butter.
- Roast the turkey for about 3-4 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
- Let the turkey rest for 20 minutes before carving.
Notes
- Use a meat thermometer for accurate cooking.
- Cover the turkey with foil if it browns too quickly.
- Make extra stuffing to serve on the side.
