A delicious layered dessert perfect for Thanksgiving.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound of sponge cake, cut into cubes
- 2 cups of pumpkin pie filling
- 2 cups of whipped cream
- 1 cup of pecans, chopped
- 1 cup of cranberries, fresh or dried
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg
Instructions
- Layer half of the sponge cake cubes in a large trifle dish.
- Spread half of the pumpkin pie filling over the cake.
- Add a layer of whipped cream on top.
- Sprinkle half of the chopped pecans and cranberries.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining ingredients.
- Top with the remaining whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
Notes
- Use store-bought or homemade sponge cake.
- Feel free to substitute the pumpkin filling with another flavor.
- Garnish with additional pecans or cranberries if desired.
