Description

A delicious layered dessert perfect for Thanksgiving.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound of sponge cake, cut into cubes
  • 2 cups of pumpkin pie filling
  • 2 cups of whipped cream
  • 1 cup of pecans, chopped
  • 1 cup of cranberries, fresh or dried
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Layer half of the sponge cake cubes in a large trifle dish.
  2. Spread half of the pumpkin pie filling over the cake.
  3. Add a layer of whipped cream on top.
  4. Sprinkle half of the chopped pecans and cranberries.
  5. Repeat the layers with the remaining ingredients.
  6. Top with the remaining whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon.
  7. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

  • Use store-bought or homemade sponge cake.
  • Feel free to substitute the pumpkin filling with another flavor.
