Instructions

  4. In another bowl, beat butter and sugar until creamy.
  5. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  6. Stir in the buttermilk and vanilla.
  7. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
  8. Divide the batter into three bowls; mix each with food coloring.
  9. Pour the colored batter into the prepared pans.
  10. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  11. Let cakes cool completely.
  12. Stack the cakes and frost them to resemble a turkey.
