A festive cake designed to look like a turkey for Thanksgiving.
Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Food coloring (brown, red, yellow, orange)
- 1 cup frosting (buttercream or cream cheese)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour two round cake pans.
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and baking soda.
- In another bowl, beat butter and sugar until creamy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in the buttermilk and vanilla.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
- Divide the batter into three bowls; mix each with food coloring.
- Pour the colored batter into the prepared pans.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cakes cool completely.
- Stack the cakes and frost them to resemble a turkey.
Notes
- Use a serrated knife to level the cakes if necessary.
- Consider using fondant for detailed decorations.
- Store the cake in a cool place until serving.
