Description

A traditional Chinese rice cake served during the Lunar New Year.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups glutinous rice flour
  • 1 cup water
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup coconut milk
  • 1/4 cup red bean paste (optional)

Instructions

  1. Mix glutinous rice flour and sugar in a bowl.
  2. Add water and coconut milk, stir until smooth.
  3. Pour mixture into a greased steaming dish.
  4. Steam for 30-40 minutes or until set.
  5. Let cool before slicing.

Notes

  • Serve with peanut or sesame for added flavor.
