Description
A traditional Chinese rice cake served during the Lunar New Year.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups glutinous rice flour
- 1 cup water
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup coconut milk
- 1/4 cup red bean paste (optional)
Instructions
- Mix glutinous rice flour and sugar in a bowl.
- Add water and coconut milk, stir until smooth.
- Pour mixture into a greased steaming dish.
- Steam for 30-40 minutes or until set.
- Let cool before slicing.
Notes
- Serve with peanut or sesame for added flavor.
- Can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week.
- Best enjoyed warm or at room temperature.
