Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix mashed bananas and brown sugar.
  3. Add melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and dark rum. Stir until combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine baking soda, salt, and flour.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture. Mix until just combined.
  6. If using, fold in chopped walnuts.
  7. Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan.
  8. Bake for 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
