A simple recipe for cooking a turkey on a Traeger grill for Thanksgiving.
Ingredients

- 1 whole turkey (12–14 lbs)
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 2 tablespoons salt
- 1 tablespoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 1/4 cup fresh herbs (rosemary, thyme, sage)
Instructions
- Preheat your Traeger grill to 225°F.
- Pat the turkey dry with paper towels.
- Rub olive oil all over the turkey.
- Mix salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika in a bowl.
- Season the turkey inside and out with the spice mix.
- Stuff the cavity with fresh herbs.
- Place the turkey on the grill and smoke for about 4-5 hours or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
- Let the turkey rest for 30 minutes before carving.
Notes
- Use a meat thermometer to check the turkey’s internal temperature.
- Adjust cooking time based on the size of the turkey.
- Brining the turkey overnight can enhance flavor and moisture.
