Description

- 1 pound sponge cake
- 2 cups mixed berries
- 2 cups vanilla custard
- 1 cup whipped cream
- 1/2 cup sherry or fruit juice
Instructions
- Cut the sponge cake into layers.
- Soak each layer with sherry or fruit juice.
- Layer the soaked sponge in a trifle bowl.
- Add a layer of mixed berries.
- Spread a layer of custard over the berries.
- Add a layer of whipped cream.
- Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
Notes
- You can use any fruit of your choice.
- For a non-alcoholic version, skip the sherry.
- This dessert can be made a day in advance.
