Turkey and Spinach Stuffed Shells: 5 Steps to Delight!

Description

Turkey and spinach stuffed shells are a hearty and flavorful dish, perfect for dinner.


Ingredients

  • 12 large pasta shells
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 2 cups fresh spinach, chopped
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the pasta shells according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a skillet, cook the ground turkey over medium heat until browned.
  4. Add chopped spinach and cook until wilted.
  5. In a bowl, mix cooked turkey, spinach, ricotta, half of the mozzarella, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  6. Stuff each shell with the turkey mixture.
  7. Spread half of the marinara sauce in the bottom of a baking dish.
  8. Place the stuffed shells in the dish and top with remaining marinara sauce.
  9. Sprinkle with remaining mozzarella and parmesan cheese.
  10. Bake for 25-30 minutes until cheese is bubbly.

Notes

  • Use whole grain shells for added fiber.
  • Substitute ground chicken or beef if desired.
  • Can be made ahead and frozen before baking.
