Ingredients

- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups white sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Royal icing for decoration
- Food coloring
- Sprinkles
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking soda, and baking powder.
- In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar.
- Add egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract. Mix well.
- Gradually blend in the dry ingredients.
- Roll rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls, and place on ungreased cookie sheets.
- Bake 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven. Cool on wire racks.
- Decorate with royal icing, food coloring, and sprinkles.
