Description

Classic French cookies made with almond flour and filled with vanilla buttercream.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 1 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 large egg whites
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for filling)
  • 1 tablespoon heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix almond flour and powdered sugar.
  3. In another bowl, beat egg whites until frothy.
  4. Gradually add granulated sugar and beat until stiff peaks form.
  5. Fold the dry ingredients into the egg whites gently.
  6. Pipe small circles onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Let the macarons sit for 30 minutes to form a skin.
  8. Bake for 15-18 minutes.
  9. Let cool completely before filling.
  10. For the filling, beat butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and cream until smooth.
  11. Pipe filling onto half of the cookies and sandwich with the other half.

Notes

  • Use aged egg whites for better results.
  • Ensure no moisture in the mixing bowls.
  • Macarons can be stored in the fridge for up to a week.
