Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 4 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups buttercream frosting
- Red food coloring
- Heart-shaped decorations
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour two cake pans.
- In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, combine milk, oil, eggs, and vanilla.
- Slowly add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and mix until smooth.
- Divide batter between the two cake pans.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cakes cool for 10 minutes, then remove from pans.
- Once cool, layer the cakes with buttercream frosting in between.
- Frost the entire cake and decorate with red food coloring and heart shapes.
Notes
- Use cake leveler for even layers.
- Chill the cake before decorating for better results.
