Description

A delicious Italian bake featuring layers of pasta, cheese, and rich sauce.


Ingredients

  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 3 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons fresh basil
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions.
  3. In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, basil, salt, and pepper.
  4. Spread a layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
  5. Layer 4 lasagna noodles over the sauce.
  6. Add half of the ricotta mixture, half of the mozzarella, and a layer of marinara.
  7. Repeat the layers, finishing with noodles, sauce, and remaining mozzarella and Parmesan.
  8. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  9. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until cheese is bubbly.

Notes

  • Let it cool for 10 minutes before serving.
  • Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
