- 1 whole turkey (12–14 lbs)
- 1/4 cup Cajun seasoning
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 celery stalks, chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 2 cups cornbread stuffing
- 1/4 cup chopped parsley
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Mix Cajun seasoning with softened butter and rub it all over the turkey.
- In a pan, sauté onion, celery, bell pepper, and garlic until soft.
- In a bowl, combine sautéed vegetables, chicken broth, cornbread stuffing, and parsley.
- Stuff the turkey with the stuffing mixture.
- Place the turkey in a roasting pan and cover it with foil.
- Roast for 3-4 hours, basting occasionally with pan juices.
- Remove the foil in the last 30 minutes to brown the skin.
- Check the internal temperature; it should reach 165°F (74°C).
- Let the turkey rest for 20 minutes before carving.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of Cajun seasoning based on your spice preference.
- For extra flavor, add sausage to the stuffing.
- Pair with traditional sides like green beans and cranberry sauce.
