- 1 whole turkey (12–14 lbs)
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh sage, chopped
- 4 cups stuffing (your choice)
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup cranberry sauce for serving
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
- Prepare the turkey by removing the giblets and patting it dry.
- Rub the softened butter all over the turkey.
- Season with salt, pepper, rosemary, thyme, and sage.
- Stuff the turkey with stuffing and place it in a roasting pan.
- Pour chicken broth into the pan.
- Cover the turkey with foil and roast for 2.5 to 3 hours.
- Remove the foil for the last 30 minutes to brown the skin.
- Check the internal temperature; it should reach 165°F (75°C).
- Let the turkey rest for 20 minutes before carving.
Notes
- Always check the temperature at the thickest part of the turkey.
- Use fresh herbs for better flavor.
- Save the drippings for gravy.
