Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Rinse the dry black eyed peas under cold water.
  2. Soak the peas in water for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  3. Drain and rinse the soaked peas.
  4. In a pot, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  5. Add onion and garlic, sauté until soft.
  6. Add the black eyed peas, water, salt, pepper, and cumin.
  7. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 30-40 minutes until peas are tender.
  8. Serve hot.
