Description

These easy snickerdoodle cookies are soft and chewy with a cinnamon-sugar coating.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar (for rolling)
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon (for rolling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, cream together the butter and sugar.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
  6. In a small bowl, mix 3 tablespoons sugar and cinnamon.
  7. Roll dough into balls, then coat in cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  8. Place on baking sheets, spaced apart.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden.
  10. Let cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

  • Make sure not to overbake for chewy cookies.
  • You can chill the dough for 30 minutes for thicker cookies.
