Description
A classic melted cheese dish served warm with bread for dipping.
Ingredients
Scale
- 200g Gruyere cheese
- 200g Emmental cheese
- 1 clove garlic
- 300ml dry white wine
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp kirsch (cherry brandy)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- French bread, cut into cubes
Instructions
- Rub the inside of a fondue pot with garlic.
- In a pot, heat wine and lemon juice over medium heat.
- Gradually add the cheeses while stirring until melted.
- Mix cornstarch with kirsch, then add to the cheese mixture.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Serve with bread cubes for dipping.

- Use a good quality wine for best flavor.
- Keep the cheese mixture warm while serving.
- Substitute cheeses as desired for different flavors.
