Ingredients

  • 1 egg (beaten)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix warm water and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes.
  2. Add flour, sugar, and salt. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough for 5 minutes until smooth.
  4. Let the dough rise for 1 hour, covered, until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).
  6. Divide the dough into small pieces. Shape each into a football.
  7. Boil water and baking soda in a pot. Add pretzels for 30 seconds.
  8. Remove pretzels and place on a baking sheet.
  9. Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with sea salt.
  10. Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
