Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 1 egg

- 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, cream the butter and brown sugar.
- Add molasses and egg, mixing well.
- In another bowl, combine flour, spices, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface.
- Cut out desired shapes using cookie cutters.
- Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes or until edges are firm.
- Let cool before decorating.
Notes
- Store cookies in an airtight container.
- You can use royal icing for decoration.
