- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup milk
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup strawberry jam
- 1 cup whipped cream
- Fresh strawberries for decoration
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour a 9×9 inch baking pan.
- In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat butter and sugar until fluffy.
- Add eggs and vanilla to the butter mixture.
- Mix in the dry ingredients alternately with milk.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let it cool, then cut the cake into squares.
- Spread strawberry jam on each square and top with whipped cream and strawberries.
Notes
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator.
- Use different jam flavors for variety.
- Consider adding food coloring for a festive look.
