Ingredients

  • 1 cup glutinous rice
  • 1 1/2 cups coconut milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 ripe mangoes
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Rinse the glutinous rice until the water runs clear.
  2. Soak the rice in water for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  3. Drain the rice and steam it for about 30 minutes until cooked.
  4. In a saucepan, heat coconut milk, sugar, and salt until dissolved.
  5. Reserve 1/4 cup of the coconut milk mixture for serving.
  6. Mix the cooked rice with the remaining coconut milk mixture and let it sit for 15 minutes.
  7. Peel and slice the mangoes.
  8. Serve the sticky rice with mango slices on top and drizzle with reserved coconut milk.
  9. Garnish with sesame seeds.
