Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ cups sugar
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Blue and yellow food coloring
- 2 cups buttercream frosting
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in milk and vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, combine flour and baking powder.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients.
- Divide batter into two bowls. Color one blue and the other yellow.
- Pour the batters into prepared pans, alternating colors.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cakes cool before frosting.
- Frost the cake with buttercream frosting and decorate with additional colors as desired.
