- 1 loaf of bread, cubed
- 6 eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Butter for greasing
Instructions
- Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with butter.
- Place the cubed bread in the dish.
- In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, cream, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt.
- Pour the egg mixture over the bread, making sure to coat all pieces.
- Cover the dish and refrigerate overnight.
- The next morning, preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake the casserole for 45-50 minutes, until golden brown.
- Let it cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Use any type of bread you like.
- Can be topped with syrup or powdered sugar.
- Make sure to let it soak overnight for best results.
