  • Fresh strawberries for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  3. In a bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.
  5. Stir in milk and vanilla.
  6. In another bowl, combine flour and baking powder.
  7. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture.
  8. Divide batter in half; color one half with red food coloring.
  9. Pour red batter into one pan and white batter into the other.
  10. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  11. Let cakes cool completely before frosting.
  12. Layer the cakes with cream cheese frosting and top with fresh strawberries.
